My drums are warped and demand to exist resurfaced, but I'chiliad unable to remove a stubborn pulsate. What is the commodities size that removes the restriction drum? 6mmx1.25mm? I tin't call up, and my search button failed to yield my answer.

At that place is no bolt holding drum , you're brake shoes are extended into the worn surface of drum thats why its sticking, you demand to conform the shoes in until information technology clears the drum...

Allow me explain... There are two threaded bolt holes on the face of the drum, opposite of each other, that assist in removing the drum when difficult. They basically "walk" the pulsate off the shoes when being tightened. I've washed this before many years agone and information technology works. I demand that bolt size.
I backed the shoes off all the way, and beat the crap out of it with a plastic dead blow mallet, and I sprayed Pb Blaster around the hub only, didn't want to soak information technology, all with no luck. The other side looked dandy with a skilful 1/ii of the shoes worn, but the pulsate warpage on the stuck side makes me think extra wear and a ridge that the shoes can't pass.
The bolts have to be at least ii.five inches long (60mm?), but with those bolts and a piddling banging effectually, a stuck drum comes off pretty easy. I just can't call up the commodities size :(

I've got two bolts that I found just for this reason. For the life of me I couldn't tell you what size they are. I think they may exist M8 x one.25 but don't quote me on that. It'southward a pretty minor commodities somewhere in the M8/M10 range and information technology's definitely a fine thread pitch so I don't recollect it'southward college than 1.50. You tin ordinarily find these type of bolts in an auto parts store. Don't bother looking in Dwelling house Depot or Lowe's.

Bolt size is M8x1.25. Exist sure to back off the star adjuster in case a shoe had worn a groove in the drum (which can likewise crusade the drum to exist stuck).

If they're M8 x i.25, that's the same size of slip plate bolts. Can you call back what the bolt head size is?

Thanks guys! I at present know what to get at Ace. Aye, I'm thinking the shoes wore a prissy ridge into the drum, I want the easy help. 30mm is also short for me, fiddling more wiggle room is good. BTW, Pearly only turned 118K yesterday, and I think this is the first time the drum has been removed. The paper between the drum/axle is still intact. Thank you again everybody for the help!

On my other Taco, I had the bolts and a crow's human foot and when I tried to remove it, information technology pulled the bolts right out of it. too much rust. Ended up I had to trounce the crap out of the drum with a Sledge Hammer to break the rust holding it on the center hub. Finally after scoring it to deth it came off.

That is not what I desire to do, the drums are still expert, only warped. I priced drums through Carquest, and OEM Brembo's are $120 each. Ouch.

^You lot are looking in the wrong place. Rock Auto has Centric 6-lug drums for ~$30 each. P/Northward 12344022 (may also be listed every bit 123.44022):

pretty certain that is not the intended method on using those threaded bolt holes.... as a pry-point.

mine were showing rust breakdown on the exterior of the drum... so I "delicately" got the rust out & fabricated sure not to lose/strip the threads getting the bolts in. Once I was sure of having about 3 threads worth, I tighted both down as, shell the face of the drum with a rubber mallet rotating information technology, tightened both ~one-half a turn, trounce it again, repeat... until there was loud popular and the drum came free from the beam face up.

worked like a charm both sides, using both threaded bolt holes simultaneously... ie purchase at to the lowest degree two bolts

Being there only a few threads in the drum if they are actually stuck they will pull right out.

    Best of luck.

8 X one.25 10 at least 100mm all tread, no sholder. I say at to the lowest degree 100mm because if it shoes are bound/rusted and you cant go the auto adjusters to united nations-adjust, you are going to have to "walk" the pulsate past the width of the shoe.
  16. appreciate this thread! cheers!

I believe these are phone call "Jacking" bolts. I hold that y'all probably need to use them - forth with backing off the shoes with the star wheel if they are out- to remove the drum.
